Halloween 2009

Halloween was BUSY this year! Carving pumpkins was fun. We carved ours and let the kids color theirs. All was well until Kylee decided to color with a Sharpie in her eye. The picture of her with the red, bloddshot eye was taken after Chad and had to flush out her eye...fun times. Trick-or-treating was eventful as always. We walked with our neighbors, a yearly tradition. Kylee stayed in the wagon most of the time. She was more interested in the grass, sidewalk, etc than going up to doors and getting candy. Cooper more than made up for her slacking. He was the leader of the pack, first one to the door at every house. We participated in trunk or treat at my school. Kylee ate her weight in dum dums while I passed out candy out of the back of the Tahoe. It was the only way she would sit quietly. Cooper made it to every car to get his candy. He helped pass out candy too! Both kids had a Haloween party at school. The cute little girl with Cooper is Scout...his girlfriend. He LOVES her! Everything is all about Scout. We hear about her everyday. She is pretty cute. Atleast he has good taste. The little boy with Kylee is Drew. They are best buds at school. He yells her name every morning when we walk in. Kylee laughs and that is how we start every morning. He is a sweet little boy! My little racecar driver and witch/angel had a blast!

State Fair

Corn dogs, Desperado tacos, fried everything, roasted corn and more...we ate our way through the fair:) Coop enjoyed the rides, Kylee liked the animals, Mom and Dad liked the auto show. Never a dull moment at the fair!

Silly Cooper Sweet Kylee

Kylee's First Birthday

The princess turned one on July 22. We had a royal splash party for her. She loved every bit of it...opening gifts, eating cake, swimming in the kiddie pool, and playing with her royal subjects:)

Summer Vacation to South Padre Island

Chad and I took the kids and my parents to South Padre Island this summer for vacation. It was the kids first time to see the beach and ocean. Coop nearly gave us a heart attack about every 10 minutes. He had no fear of the ocean, therefore he would run in as far as he could go and nearly drown himself! He never learned his lesson, he just kept on doing it. Kylee ate about 5 pounds of sand before she figured out she didn't like it. They had a blast...not much rest for us though. Cooper finally learned to swim in the pool at our condo. It was so cool...my boy is growing up!

Cutie Cousins

4th of July

Here are the kids waiting on the fireworks to start in Addisson. Their faces are sun-kissed from swimming at Bop and LaLa's house all day!

Texarkana

A few weekends ago, we went to Texarkana to visit Papa Holmes and Aunt Karen and Uncle Joe. Kylee was just starting to walk that weekend. She pushed Coop around in that wagon and thought she was on top of the world! My baby is growing up :(

Dinner with the family

We met Chad's brother Kevin and his girlfriend Ariel for his birthday dinner. His other brother Michael, his wife Kimberly and cousins Presley and Carter came too. We had a blast. Lots of messy faces and food on the floor.

A Day at the Lake

Our great Friends, the Kurtz family, invite us to the lake each summer. This time was a blast as always. Cooper swam like a fish. Kylee loved being in the water and playing with Kara.

Best Friends Forever

My best friend in the whole world is Jenny Owens. We went to college together, were roommates, and endured break-ups, crushes, hang-overs, gaining weight, losing weight, studying, skipping class, etc together. We ended up having our first babies very close together, We both had boys. Cooper and Kayden are great buds. They fight and play like brothers. We thought life was so great, but we both wanted little girls. We never dreames we would be so blessed as to have girls together. Kylee and Kinlea are our two little divas, the hair bow twins! So far they get along great... not long before they are fighting over boys!

.Easter 2009

This was Kylee's first Easter. She didn't know what to do with her hunted treasures, so she put them all inher mouth! We enjoyed an egg hunt with our dear friends Jozy and Makayla Bartis. We spent the weekend at our timeshare and had a hunt their as well. Cooper is a pro this Easter. He helped Kylee and still managed to get almost all of the eggs for himself.

A Visit to the Fire Station

Chad's fire station got a new engine and ambulance. It is a tradition to "break in" the newest vehicles with a party. Kylee NEVER looks at the camera when you need her to. She always has to know what is going on everywhere else!

The toothpaste incident

Coop thought it was a grand idea to squeeze out all of the toothpaste and rub it on everything he could find! The picture does not do this drama justice. We found dried toothpaste on stuff for weeks after, not to mention the carpet! What a mess! Being 3 is so fun! So hard to be mad at that little cutie!

Bluebonnets

It's a tradition! We have to get pictures in the bluebonnets! Coop had a blast playing in the flowers. Kylee proved to be a true diva- she was whiny and itchy- not an outdoorsy nature girl! I can see it already, Coop and Daddy hunting, Kylee and Mommy shopping!

First time in the pool (and a bikini!)

Ok- so she's not swimsuit model material, but aren't those rolls cute? There is only one time in your life when being chubby in a swimsuit is cute, so we are taking advantage of it!

When I grow up I want to be a politician!?!?!?!?!?

On the bottom, 4th from the left, does that say Politician Cooper? Yes it does! Cooper informed his teachers at school that he wants to be a politician. Much to our surprise he confirmed it when he got home. "Coop, do you want to be a firefighter like Daddy?" says Mommy. " No Mommy! I want to be a politician!" exclaims Cooper. "What does a politician do Cooper?" inquires Mommy. "They talk a lot!" says Coop. "Oh, well then that's right up your alley Coop." Decides Mommy!

Eating is such hard work!

After a long day at school and eating dinner, Kylee was worn out!

Tutus, pearls, and slobber, that's what little Kylees are made of!

Ummm.... what did you expect my little girl to be wearing around the house???? I can't help myself, it's like playing dress up everyday like you did when you were little, but soo much better! She's such a good sport about it too, she smiles and coos no matter what crazy outfit I put her in!

Everyday life in the Holmes house

Cooper and Kylee have a blast together! She laughs her head off at him and he ofcourse performs and loves the attention. Bath time is always quite wet. The walls, floor, toilet, everything is wet!!!! Cooper is a big helper. He loves to give Kylee her bottles and cracks up when she burps! Everyday is a new adventure and a new laugh!

The Diva gets her first bling, bling!

Kylee got her ears pierced! I heard a scream I've never heard before when it happened, but within 2 minutes she was happy as can be! The things we girls do to be beautiful!

Kylee's first food

What a pleasant experience compared to our first midget! She eats like a pro. Kylee eats every last bite and wines for more. Cooper wouldn't eat at all- still doesn't! We found out after a long night of green vomit that she is allergic to peas just like big brother was! Yuck!

Cooper & Kylee's first trip to the movie theater

Well, we saw Madagascar 2. If you have seen this all I have to say is.... I like 'em big, I like 'em chunky! Cooper enjoyed the movie up until the last 30 minutes then he was ready to go. Kylee lasted the whole movie like a champ!

Coop's 3rd Birthday

He had a blast opening gifts, eating cake, and playing with his posse! Our boy is growing up:(

Halloween 2008

This Halloween was so fun! Coop actually understood what trick or treating was. He dressed up as Michael Jackson, from the glitter glove to the "beat it" t-shirt! He walked up to each door and told everyone " I Jackson!" The princess was a ballerina that night. She only made it to a few houses and then was ready to go home. That was okay with Mom since her foot is broken. Kylee and Mom went home early and passed out candy while Cooper and Daddy raked in some candy. Kylee got to dress up at school so she also had a tiger and pumpkin costume- both matched her hair, she's getting to be more of a carrot top everyday. Who would have guessed? We had a blast carving pumpkins- Halloween is so fun!
